abstract | The invention relates to a high-frequency generator which is designed for connecting an instrument for treating body tissue and which has an impedance detection device that is designed to determine an impedance of a medium contacting the instrument, in particular body tissue, via electrodes of an instrument which is connected when being used. According to the invention, the impedance detection device is designed to derive the impedance of a contacted medium at at least two, preferably at least three, different frequencies and to derive a relative parameter which describes the difference between the impedance values at a respective point in time from the measured impedance values in order to derive a signal which characterizes the state of the medium, in particular the body tissue, therefrom. |
