abstract The invention relates to an electric energy storage device for an electric device, said electric energy storage device having a housing, which defines a receiving chamber in which at least one stored electric energy source is held, and comprising at least one housing opening which is closed by at least one closing element, the exterior of the housing being covered at least partially with a coating comprising an edge-protection material. In order to develop the electric energy storage device such that preferably no moisture can pass through the at least one housing opening into the receiving chamber, the invention proposes that at least one sealing element is formed between the at least one closing element and the housing and that the sealing element is made of the edge-protection material.
