abstract According to an aspect of the present invention, provided is a character-blurring evaluation method for a display device 20, characterized in that light emitted from the display device 20 is photographed with two or more kinds of stripe patterns 20C to 20E displayed on a display surface 20A of the display device 20, the stripe patterns 20C to 20E being formed of a plurality of lines 20B having different line widths LW, variations in luminance along a direction crossing the stripe patterns 20C to 20E are obtained from the photographed light, and contrasts of the individual stripe patterns 20C to 20E are obtained from the luminance variations, whereby character blurring is evaluated.
