abstract The present invention is provided with a step for obtaining ashless coal by a solvent extraction process performed on coal, a step for heat-treating the ashless coal, and a step for melt-spinning the heat-treated ashless coal, the volatile portion of the coal being 30-53% by mass. As the molar ratio (O/C) of the oxygen content with respect to the carbon content of the coal, 0.07-0.23 is preferred. The solvent extraction process may be performed at 300-450°C. The heat treatment may be performed at 150-350°C.
