abstract |
A flow battery system is provided with: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; a positive electrode reference electrode for measuring the potential of the positive electrode; a positive electrode electrolyte solution containing at least one of iodine ions and iodine molecules as a positive electrode active material; a positive electrode electrolyte solution reservoir in which the positive electrode electrolyte solution is stored; a negative electrode electrolyte solution containing a negative electrode active material; a negative electrode electrolyte solution reservoir in which the negative electrode electrolyte solution is stored; a liquid supply unit that causes the positive electrode electrolyte solution to circulate between the positive electrode and the positive electrode electrolyte solution reservoir and that causes the negative electrode electrolyte solution to circulate between the negative electrode and the negative electrode electrolyte solution reservoir; and a control unit that controls charging/discharging and that sets the charging potential of the positive electrode to 1.1 V or less using the potential of an Ag/AgCl reference electrode (saturated concentration of Cl - ) as a reference. |
