Solid soap composition (in particulate form) comprising at least 70% by wt. soap, 0.01-15% by wt. water and having a pH of 7-9.5. Process for the production of said solid soap composition comprising: (a) contacting a hydroxide solution and a triglyceride to form a saponification mixture; (b) agitating (a) at 50-70°C until the mixture has a viscosity of 300-500cP; (c) curing (b) at 130-170°C to form the solid soap composition. Process for the production of a solid soap product for cleansing the human body comprising: (a) providing solid soap base comprising soap and glycerol; (b) heating (a) to provide the soap base in liquid form, and opt. contacting the soap base with glycerol, to form a soap liquid mixture; (c) pouring (b) into a mould and allowing to set to form the solid soap product, wherein the solid soap product contains 0.01 to 35% by wt. glycerol, and no greater than 80% by wt. of the glycerol present in the solid soap product is added to the soap base. |
