abstract The present invention provides: a balloon catheter configured so that, during the delivery of medicine, the dissolution of medicine into blood or the dropping off of the medicine can be prevented; and a method for manufacturing the balloon catheter. This balloon catheter has a shaft 2 and a balloon 10 which is disposed outside the shaft 2 and which has folds 14. The balloon 10 has a first region 21 in which medicine is held on an outer surface, and a second region 22 which holds less medicine than the first region 21 or which holds no medicine.
