abstract In the present invention, an auxiliary excitation light source unit 50 is of a handy type having a size that can be held with one hand. This auxiliary excitation light source unit 50 is provided with an auxiliary excitation light source 51 comprising a high-power LED within a casing 57. The auxiliary excitation light source 51 emits near infrared light having a wavelength of 760 nm, which is excitation light for exciting indocyanine green. A low-pass filter 53 for blocking light having a wavelength corresponding to the wavelength of fluorescence generated from the indocyanine green is disposed in front of the auxiliary excitation light source 51.
