abstract For the purpose of giving assistance so as to enable a user to carry out low-invasive observation of a sample to be observed and a fluorescent body to be used, an observation assistance apparatus (1) according to the present invention is provided with: an information storage unit (3) that stores, in association with the type of sample, the type of fluorescent body, and the observation conditions, sample state information indicating the state change of a sample in fluorescent observation carried out under prescribed observation conditions including two or more parameters by using a prescribed fluorescent body for the prescribed sample; an input unit (4) that requires the user to input the type of the sample to be observed and the type of the fluorescent body to be used; an assistance display generation unit (5) that generates an assistance display representing sample state information in relation to the two or more parameters included in the observation conditions by reading the sample state information and the observation conditions in the fluorescent observation carried out by using the fluorescent body of the same type as that of the fluorescent body from the information storage unit (3) for a sample of the same kind as that of the inputted sample; and a display unit (6) that displays the generated assistance display.
