The present invention relates to the field of solid materials for lithium adsorption. In particular, the invention relates to a new method for producing a solid, shaped crystalline material, preferably in the form of extrudates, of formula (LiCl) x .2Al(OH) 3 ,nH 2 O with n being between 0.01 and 10 and x being between 0.4 and 1, comprising a step a) of precipitating boehmite under specific temperature and pH conditions, a step of bringing the obtained precipitate into contact with LiCl, at least one shaping step, preferably by means of acid mixing/extrusion, and said method also comprising a final hydrothermal treatment step, all this making it possible to increase the lithium adsorption capacity, adsorption kinetics and the lithium/boron selectivity of the materials obtained compared to the materials from the prior art, when this material is used in a method for extracting lithium from saline solutions. |
