The present invention relates to a strain of the genus Agathobaculum having an effect of preventing or treating degenerative brain diseases, and a use thereof. Since the intestinal microorganism strain of Agathobaculum butyriciproducens SR79 of the present invention has a cerebral inflammatory response inhibitory effect and exhibits the effects of improving motor control, cognitive and memory functions in an animal model with a degenerative brain disease such as Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease, the strain is useful as a food product, a medicine or a feed for preventing or treating brain diseases including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and mild cognitive impairment, and thus is very useful in related industries. |
