abstract A composite polymer fibre or filament includes a core of a polymer. The core includes a liquid active ingredient. A sheath surrounding the core is also of a polymer and acts to reduce the rate at which the liquid active ingredient is released from the core by establishing a negative concentration gradient of the liquid active ingredient from a core/sheath interface to an outer surface of the sheath. The filament can be incorporated in a multifilament yarn.
