abstract [Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a liquid crystal composition which is unlikely to cause dripping marks during manufacture, and is unlikely to vaporize during an ODF process, without causing a deterioration in various characteristics thereof as a liquid crystal display element, such as T ni , Δε, γ 1 , and nematic phase stability at low temperature, and a deterioration in the burn-in characteristics of a display element; and a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition. [Solution] The present inventors have studied various liquid crystal compounds and various chemical materials and found that the aforementioned problem can be solved by combining specific liquid crystal compounds, and have arrived at the present invention. Provided are: a composition containing compounds represented by general formulae (i)-(vi); a liquid crystal display element using the composition; and a VA-type element, FFS element, or IPS using the composition.
