abstract [Problem] To provide a novel polymerizable silane compound for use in a polymerizable composition a cured product of which has a high refractive index and a low Abbe number, and which is suitable for production of a molded article having a high transparency. [Solution] A polymerizable silane compound represented by formula [1], and a polysiloxane which is a polycondensation product of the polymerizable silane compound. (In the formula, X represents a phenyl group, a naphthyl group, a biphenyl group, or a phenanthryl group having at least one substituent having a polymerizable double bond, Ar 1 represents a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon group (optionally substituted with an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms), or a hydrocarbon ring assembly group (optionally substituted with an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms) in which a plurality of aromatic rings are directly bonded with each other by a single bond, and R 1 represents a methyl group, an ethyl group, or an isopropyl group.)
