The present invention addresses the problem of providing a device for detecting biological material, configured in such a way as to increase the time taken for a sample to pass through a through-hole. This problem can be solved by means of a device for detecting biological material characterized in being provided with: a base plate; a through-hole which is formed in the base plate and through which a biological material to be examined passes; a molecule which is formed in the through-hole and which interacts with the passing biological material to be examined; a first chamber member which, together with a surface that includes at least the through-hole, on one surface-side of the substrate, forms a first chamber which is filled with an electrolytic solution; and a second chamber member which, together with a surface that includes at least the through-hole, on the other surface-side of the substrate, forms a second chamber which is filled with an electrolytic solution; and in that the biological material to be examined is identified by means of the waveform (pass-through time, shape etc.) of an ionic current when the biological material to be examined passes through the through-hole. |
