titleOfInvention All-optical buffer based on array waveguide grating router
abstract An all-optical buffer based on an array waveguide grating router (1). An input port and an output port of the array waveguide grating router (1) respectively serve as a total input end and a total output end, and the remaining input ports and output ports are all used for connection. The remaining output ports of the array waveguide grating router (1) are connected to an input end of a wavelength converter (3) via a first optical fibre delay line (2), and an output end of the wavelength converter (3) is connected to each of the remaining input ports of the array waveguide grating router (1) after passing through a semiconductor optical amplifier (4) and a respective second optical fibre delay line (5). A composite optical packet signal enters into a total input port and is output from the remaining output ports after being subjected to wavelength division multiplexing to form different wavelengths so as to perform wavelength conversion. The signal, after being amplified, is transmitted to the remaining input ports of the array waveguide grating router (1) to form an optical buffer ring. The present invention achieves the control of a plurality of wavelengths at different buffer times, is efficient and energy-saving, has an unlimited buffer time, improves the stability of a system, and has the advantages of a small size, a light weight, good flexibility, anti-electromagnetic interference, etc.
