titleOfInvention System and method for detection of a gaseous aldehyde
abstract The present invention relates to a system (10) for detection of a gaseous aldehyde (34). The system (10) comprises a container (20) having a carrier medium (22), the carrier medium having dispersed carbon element based dots (24) with photoluminescence property; an air inlet (30) for guiding a gas flow (32) comprising the gaseous aldehyde to pass through the carrier medium (22); a light source (40) for emitting an excitation light (E) and for guiding the excitation light (E) through the carrier medium (22); a detector (50) for detecting luminescent light (L) triggered by the excitation light (E), the luminescent light (L) having a luminescence property; and a controller (60) for detecting concentration of the gaseous aldehyde (34) based on a change of the luminescence property.
