titleOfInvention Battery pack
abstract The present invention quickly detects an abnormality due to ejecta, such as high-temperature gas or flames when igniting, that is ejected from a battery cell. This battery pack comprises: a plurality of battery cells that are obtained by blocking an opening section of an outer packaging canister with a sealing plate; a holder case that holds the plurality of battery cells in a mutually parallel arrangement; a pair of busbar plates that are positioned on top and bottom surfaces of the holder case; a cover member that is positioned to top and bottom outer sides of the holder case and covers the busbar plates; and a temperature detection unit that is positioned between the holder case and the cover member. A discharge space is formed between the cover member and the holder case, said discharge space allowing the influx of ejecta that is ejected from an end surface of a battery cell at the time of an abnormality in the battery cell. The periphery of the discharge space is blocked, the discharge space is provided with an opening section that brings one region of the periphery into communication with the exterior and allows the ejecta to pass through, and the temperature detection unit is positioned close to this opening section.
