The invention relates to a method for producing a brush or a paintbrush, comprising a carrier (10) made of thermoplastic resin having at least one anchoring opening (22), into which anchoring opening (22) at least one bristle element (12) is inserted and anchored therein without an anchor. Said method is characterized by the following steps: the carrier (10) is provided with at least one anchoring opening (22); the bristle element (12) is inserted into the anchoring opening (22); in a region laterally adjoining the anchoring opening (22), the carrier (10) is heated to a temperature that is below the melting temperature of the material of the carrier (10), in particular at most 85% in °C of the respective melting temperature of the material of the carrier (10); by means of a laterally engaging pressing tool (24), the carrier (10) is deformed in a direction that is oblique to the longitudinal axis of the anchoring opening (22) in such a way that the cross-section of the anchoring opening (22) is reduced such that the bristle element (12) is anchored in the anchoring opening (22). The invention further relates to a device by means of which said method can be carried out, and to a carrier (10 ) that can be fitted with a bristle element (12) by means of said method. |
