abstract [Problem] To provide a coding toy, coding toy block, stage, figure toy, and coding method, with which, via a simple method, coding with a high degree of freedom is possible. [Solution] Provided is a coding toy 10, comprising: a subject to be controlled (figure) 20, further comprising a control unit, an input unit, and an output unit; and parts (icon blocks) 40, further comprising code identifiers (icons) which correspond to control descriptions of the subject to be controlled 20. The control unit of the subject to be controlled 20 acquires, via the input unit, code identifier information and location information from the code identifiers which the parts 40 which are positioned in prescribed locations indicate and the locations of the parts 40, and controls the output unit in accordance with the control descriptions and a control sequence which are defined by the code identifier information and the location information.
