abstract | A composition, comprising an amidomagnesium chloride represented by the following structural formula R 1 R 2 NMgCl, and an amidomagnesium bromide represented by the following structural formula R 3 R 4 NMgBr is disclosed. Values and example values of variables R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , and R 4 are described herein. The disclosed mixed amidomagnesium halides show an increased solubility, high reactivity and regioselectivity in facilitating the reaction of directed metalation and subsequent functionalization of aryls and heteroaryls. |
