abstract |
Provided is a binder for a battery electrode, the binder having superior binding properties and being capable of effectively decreasing the internal resistance of a battery while still being usable as an aqueous binder with low environmental burden. A binder for a battery electrode according to the present invention has a core shell structure of a core section (A) containing a copolymer the principal constituent of which is methyl methacrylate and a shell section (B) having a (meth)acrylate-based copolymer containing (meth)acrylate as a polymerization component, wherein the swelling ratios with respect to a mixed solvent in which ethylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate are mixed at a volume ratio of 3:7 are 10% or less for the resin constituting the core section (A) and 30% or more for the resin constituting the shell section (B). |
