abstract | To provide a highly reliable absorbance measuring apparatus and method for enabling high-precision measurements of absorbance. The absorbance measuring apparatus has: a liquid-accommodating portion capable of accommodating a chemical substance solution to be measured; a nozzle communicating with a suction and ejection mechanism for suctioning or ejecting a gas; a flow pipe, on the lower end of which a mouth part, which can be inserted into the liquid accommodating portion, removably attaches thereto, and at the upper end of which removably attaches to the nozzle; an irradiating end capable of radiating light for measurement; a light-receiving end capable of receiving light radiated from the irradiating end; and a control unit. Either the irradiating end or the light-receiving end is arranged at the nozzle or the suction and ejection mechanism, and the other of the irradiating end and the light receiving end is arranged so that the mouth part of the flow pipe can be oriented vertically. The control unit derives the absorbance on the basis of the intensity of light obtained by suctioning a regulated amount of the chemical substance solution into the flow pipe, and vertically radiating light for measurement into the flow pipe. |
