abstract The invention provides a method of making a medical device. The method comprises contacting a portion of a tool corresponding to a subject's body part with a layer of polymeric material configured to retain the shape of the tool in the absence of a vacuum. The method further comprises contacting at least a portion of the layer of polymeric material with a curable material, and then curing the curable material so that it becomes rigid to thereby create a medical device.
