| abstract | An orthosis (3) includes a footplate (5) having a heel portion (15), a midfoot portion (13), and a longitudinal axis (21) extending between the heel portion (15) and midfoot portion (13). A first deflection zone (22) is defined along a length of the footplate (5) anterior of the heel portion (15) and through which the footplate (5) is arranged to flex during gait to accommodate dorsiflexion of a foot of a user positioned on the footplate.
