An electrolytic capacitor anode is manufactured through formation of an aluminum electrode in which a porous layer comprising a sintered layer of aluminum powder having an average particle size of 1 μm to 10 μm is laminated on a surface of an aluminum core material to a thickness of 150 μm to 3000 μm. In this case, after a pure water boil step and before a formation step, an organic acid immersion step is performed in which the aluminum electrode is immersed in an organic acid aqueous solution including, e.g., dodecanoic acid, benzoic acid, propanedioic acid, butanedioic acid, (E)-2-butenedioic acid, 2-hydroxypropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid, and (E)-1-propene-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid. In the formation step, a phosphoric acid immersion step is performed at least once in which the aluminum electrode is immersed in an aqueous solution including a phosphoric ion in the course of a film withstand voltage rising to a formation voltage. |
