abstract |
The present disclosure pertains to a lead storage battery provided with: a battery case having a cell room; an electrode plate group that is provided in the cell room and that has separators, and has positive and negative electrode plates alternately layered via the separators; and an electrolytic solution housed in the cell room. The positive electrode plates and the negative electrode plates each have: an electrode material loading part formed of an electrode material; a collector that supports the electrode material loading part; and an ear part provided on an upper peripheral edge part of the collector. The ear part of the negative electrode has a surface layer containing Sn. When S1 represents the total surface area of the electrode material loading part, and when V1 represents the total apparent volume of the electrode material loading part, S1/V1 is at least 8.9 cm -1 . |
