abstract |
The invention relates to a method for determining the reaction of at least one bacteria of interest to its exposure to an antibiotic implementing an analysis by Raman spectroscopy and comprising the following steps: a biological sample liable to contain said bacteria of interest is provided; at least two fractions of said sample are prepared, each comprising one or more living bacteria of interest; in each fraction, at least one living bacteria of interest is captured using a binding partner; at least one of the fractions is exposed to at least one concentration of at least one given antibiotic, the other of the fractions being the control fraction; the one or more bacteria of interest contained in the fractions are subjected to incident light and the resulting light obtained by Raman scattering from the one or more bacteria of interest is analysed by Raman spectroscopy in order to obtain as many Raman spectra as there are bacteria; said spectra are processed to obtain a signature of the reaction of the or each of the bacteria of interest to the exposure to said antibiotic and to the control; the signature thus obtained per bacteria of interest is compared to a reference base defined under the same conditions as above, for various bacteria and at least said antibiotic; and a clinical profile of the sensitivity of said bacteria of interest to said antibiotic is defined. |
