titleOfInvention | Drug sustained-release type nanoparticle and pharmaceutical composition for treatment of diabetes comprising pancreatic islet cells having surface-modified with nanoparticle |
abstract | The present invention relates to a drug sustained-release type nanoparticle, and a pharmaceutical composition for treating diabetes comprising pancreatic islet cells of which the surface is modified with the drug sustained-release type nanoparticle according to the present invention, the drug sustained-release type nanoparticle comprising: a biodegradable polymer encapsulating a drug; a linear polymer of which one end is attached to the surface of the biodegradable polymer; and an adhesive material bonded to the other end of the linear polymer, wherein the linear polymer is any one selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG), heparin, heparin analogue, chitosan, hyaluronic acid and derivatives thereof, and the adhesive material is any one selected from the group consisting of dopamine, 3,4-dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid (DOHA) and derivatives thereof. Since the nanoparticle according to the present invention can regulate a cytokine release or blood coagulation system by releasing an encapsulated immunosuppressant or anticoagulant, a modification of the surface of pancreatic islet cells with the nanoparticle can improve the survival rate after transplantation of pancreatic islet cells. |
