The present disclosure relates to a process for reducing viscosity of heavy oil in an oil well by employing a microbial consortium comprising of a microbe having accession number MTCC 5983. Also provided is a method of enhanced oil recovery from oil well. The present disclosure further provides an isolated microbe having accessing number MTCC 5983, and a microbial consortium comprising of said isolated microbe. |
