abstract |
Methods and compositions for disrupting or degrading a cell-to-cell junctions using a PR3 agonist or analogue. Methods and compositions for protecting permeability across an endothelial or epithelial barrier, including protecting a blood barrier (BB) from degradation using a proteinase-3 (PR-3) antagonist. PR3 is used as a biomarker of disease/injury severity. Labelling of PR3 is used in vivo to anatomically identify sites of cell-to-cell junctional breakdown, and used to aid determination of disease resolution and/or response to therapy. |
