The present invention addresses the problem of providing a transparent organic electroluminescence element having a low-resistance and high-transparency electrode, and a method for manufacturing said element. In this transparent organic electroluminescence element, the total light transmittance in the visible-light region when light is not being emitted is 45% or more, the transparent organic electroluminescence element being characterized in that: the anode is selected from combinations of fine metal wire and a metal oxide layer, fine metal wire and a metal thin-film layer, or fine metal wire and an electroconductive polymer layer; and the cathode is selected from combinations of fine metal wire and a metal oxide layer, or fine metal wire and a metal thin-film layer. |
