The invention relates to a stable composition obtained by enzymatic oxidation of a halide-thiocyanate mixture including at least one ion selected from the group consisting of I 2 SCN" ions and I(SCN) 2 ions, said composition being free of hypothiocyanite ions. [0002] In one embodiment, the composition according to the invention further comprises iodine thiocyanate (ISCN).
