Provided are a non-aqueous electrolyte and a lithium ion battery containing the same. The non-aqueous electrolyte includes a lithium salt, a non-aqueous solvent and a first additive, the first additive includes phosphorothionates having a structure shown as formula (1) : each R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from a group consisting of - (CH 2 ) n-CH 3 , - (CH 2 ) n-CF 3 , -NO 2 and -SO 3 , n is an integer of 0 to 4; each R 3 to R 7 are independently selected from a group consisting of -CN, -F, -Cl, -Br, -CF 3 , -NO 2 and -H; and at least one of R 3 to R 7 is selected from -CN, -F, -Cl, -Br, -CF 3 or -NO 2 . |
