abstract A core body temperature adjustment system includes a thermal housing operable to transfer heat between the thermal housing and a glabrous area of a patient's appendage. The appendage is a hand or foot. A garment is sized to at least partially enclose the appendage, and includes a flap operable to removably secure a first side of the thermal housing against the glabrous area. A control circuit is operable to control a temperature within the thermal housing.
