[Problem] To provide a thermochromic color-memory composition which can effectively exhibit a property of reversible memory retention of color and which is applicable in a wide variety of fields, and a thermochromic color-memory microcapsule pigment encapsulating the same. [Solution] A thermochromic color-memory composition including (a) an electron-donating coloring organic compound, (b) an electron-accepting compound, and (c) an ester compound represented by formula (1) as a reaction medium for controlling a coloring reaction of the (a) component and the (b) component. (In formula (1), R represents a C3-18 alkyl group, a C6-11 cycloalkyl group, a C5-7 cycloalkyl group, or a C3-18 alkenyl group, X each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group, a C1-3 alkoxy group, or a halogen atom, and Y each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group, a methoxy group, an ethoxy group, or a halogen atom.) |
