A conversion body (11) has a main body (2) made of a wavelength-converting phosphor, said main body having a surface (3) to be irradiated, provided to be irradiated by primary light (P), and at least one electrically conductive conduction track (12, 13) attached on the main body (2) outside the surface (3) to be irradiated. A conversion device (E2) has at least one conversion body (11) and an evaluation device (G) connected to the at least one conduction track (12, 13), the evaluation device (G) being configured to determine a crack in the main body (2) on the basis of a change in an electric property of at least one conduction track (12, 13). An illumination apparatus (B2) has at least one conversion device (E2) and at least one semiconductor primary light source (L) for irradiating the surface (3) to be irradiated of the associated main body (2), the evaluation device (G) being coupled to the at least one semiconductor primary light source (L). By way of example, the invention may be applied to wavelength-converting ceramic bodies as main bodies. By way of example, the invention may be applied to LARP arrangements, in particular to illumination apparatuses for vehicles or for special illuminations such as stage or effect illuminations. |
