This lighting device is provided with: a light source that emits light; a condensing optical element that converts, into condensed light, the light emitted from the light source and emits the condensed light; and a projection lens that projects the condensed light, wherein the condensation position of the condensed light is positioned between the condensing optical element and the projection lens, and the condensation position is shifted in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the projection lens. Also, the condensation position is aligned, in the direction of the optical axis, with the focus position of the projection lens. Alternatively, the condensing optical element rotates around a first axis perpendicular to the optical axis of the condensing optical element, or shifts in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the condensing optical element. Further, the lighting device is provided with a transmissive element that is supported so as to be rotatable around a second axis perpendicular to the optical axis of the projection lens and that transmits the condensed light. |
