titleOfInvention Bioactive coating material
abstract The invention relates to a bioactive coating material for coating of polymer materials for cell cultures, comprising a polymer conjugate formed in each case from a polymeric anchor molecule having surface-active anchor groups on the one hand and from one or more biologically active molecules in each case on the other hand. The anchor molecule here is an amphiphilic molecule having a hydrophobic moiety composed of styrene, methacrylic acid, isobutene, acrylic acid, acrylic ester or methacrylic ester units and a hydrophilic moiety composed of units containing carboxyl, amino, epoxide, thiol, alkyne or azide groups. Through the selection of cell-instructive coating materials, it is possible for the user to effectively control decisions as to the fate of individual cells, especially cell adhesion to virtually any disposable cell culture articles. Overall, this concept opens up valuable new options for high-throughput diagnostics, stem cell biotechnology and regenerative therapies.
