abstract |
The invention relates to a process for workup of chlorosilanes or chlorosilane mixtures contaminated with carbon compounds, which comprises production of TCS by hydrochlorination of metallurgical silicon or by conversion of STC into TCS; removal of a chlorosilane or chlorosilane mixture comprising at least one carbon compound selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons, chlorohydrocarbons and organochlorosilanes from the product mixture obtained from the production of TCS; thermal treatment of the removed chlorosilane or chlorosilane mixture comprising at least one carbon compound in the presence of hydrogen and at a temperature of at least 750°C to at least partially convert the at least one carbon compound into methane; removal of methane by condensation of the thermally treated chlorosilane or chlorosilane mixture, wherein the condensate comprises not more than 500 ppmw of organochlorosilanes. |
