abstract The present invention relates to a composition comprising an amorphous calcium aluminate having a final molar ratio (RF) of lime to alumina within a predetermined range that extends between a lower limit (Ri) and an upper limit (Rs), said lower limit being different to the upper limit, in which said amorphous calcium aluminate is a mixture of at least: - a first amorphous calcium aluminate having a first molar ratio of lime to alumina (R1) strictly less than the lower limit of said predetermined range, and - a second amorphous calcium aluminate having a second molar ratio of lime to alumina (R2) strictly greater than the upper limit of said predetermined range, and in which said mixture comprises a first quantity of the first amorphous calcium aluminate and a second quantity of the second amorphous calcium aluminate, said first and second quantities being determined such that the final molar ratio of lime to alumina of the amorphous calcium aluminate, corresponding to the average of the first and second molar ratios of lime to alumina weighted by said first and second quantities, belongs to said predetermined range. The present invention also concerns a method for producing such a composition.
