abstract | The invention relates to a method for producing an orthodontic correcting device. According to the invention, in order to provide a patient-friendly orthodontic correcting device, an orthodontic correcting device comprising a wall which contacts a tooth surface and which is made from a dynamic synthetic material that changes its shape in a predictable way upon contact with water, is produced using the following steps: – detecting the actual position of a tooth to be corrected, – calculating the target position of the tooth to be corrected, – calculating the wall of the correcting device while taking into consideration the actual position, the target position, and the shape change of the dynamic synthetic material, – producing a correcting device with a wall contacting the tooth surface in the actual position, which wall changes its shape in a predictable way upon contact with water in order to move the tooth in the direction of the target position. The invention further comprises a correcting device. |
