titleOfInvention Hydrophobizing compound and fluorocarbon polymer-free preparations based on water and/or organic solvents, the use thereof as a finish on sheet materials, and substrates obtained thereby
abstract The invention relates to preparations (Z) based on water and/or organic solvents and to the use thereof as a finish on sheet materials, containing (1) 10–90% of a conversion product (S), which can be obtained by converting an etherified hexamethylol melamine with a compound of the composition R 1 and the anhydride of an organic dicarboxylic acid, (2) 0–10% of a hydrophobic component based on wax, (3) 0–45% of a non-blocked or blocked di-, tri-, or polyisocyanate, and (4) optionally conventional emulsifiers. When the finish is used on sheet materials, the preparations imbue the treated sheet materials with permanent hydrophobic properties.
