abstract Among other things, we describe a physical bulletin board. The bulletin board includes at least one physical component configured to interface with at least one electronic component. In some implementations, the bulletin board includes the electronic component, e.g., as a built-in display. For example, the built-in display may be associated with a processor that can run software that augments the functionality of the bulletin board. In some implementations, the bulletin board includes a component, such as a mounting apparatus, that receives a mobile computing device (MCD). For example, the MCD can run software that augments the functionality of the bulletin board.
