abstract Provided are a bioprobe comprising AIE luminogens, and a method of imaging cells comprising introducing the bioprobe to a sample containing cells and imaging the cells by monitoring fluorescence emitted from the cell uptake of the bioprobe. Provided further is a method of monitoring a process of mitophagy comprising introducing the bioprobe to a sample containing cells, and monitoring the process of mitophagy by tracking morphological change.
