abstract |
Provided are a marker composition for diagnosing diseases related to cholesterol accumulation and a method for providing information useful in the diagnosis of diseases related to cholesterol accumulation by detecting the same. More particularly, hypoxanthine can be useful as a marker for diagnosing diseases related to cholesterol accumulation, more preferably, coronary artery diseases, since hypoxanthine directly or indirectly increases intracellular cholesterol accumulation and induces oxidative stress. In addition, by using the diagnostic marker of the present invention, information important in the detection and prognosis prediction of diseases related to cholesterol accumulation can be provided, and the diagnostic marker can be used in screening for therapeutic drugs for diseases related to cholesterol accumulation. |
