Provided is a lubricant oil composition having excellent fuel-saving properties while being capable of manifesting fuel-saving properties that result from friction-reducing effects in a short time. Specifically, the present invention is a lubricant oil composition comprising a base oil, molybdenum dithiocarbamate, a calcium cleaning agent, a magnesium cleaning agent, and a non-boron-containing succinimide, wherein the content of said molybdenum dithiocarbamate calculated as molybdenum atoms with respect to the total amount of the composition is not more than 1,200 ppm (mass/mass), the content of said non-boron-containing succinimide calculated as nitrogen with respect to the total amount of the composition is less than 1,200 ppm (mass/mass), and the mass ratio [Mo/Mg] of said molybdenum atoms (Mo) to the magnesium atoms (Mg) in said magnesium cleaning agent is at least 0.1. |
