abstract The objective of the present invention is to provide a carbonaceous molding for a cell electrode, the carbonaceous molding having high charge/discharge capacity, high initial charge-discharge efficiency, and excellent cycle life. The problem of the present invention can be solved by this carbonaceous molding for a cell electrode that includes carbon fibers in which lithium can be doped and dedoped, and a carbonaceous material, the carbonaceous molding characterized by having a thickness of 1 mm or less, an atomic ratio (H/C) of hydrogen atoms and carbon atoms of 0.1 or less as defined by element analysis, porosity determined from the bulk density and butanol true density of the molding of 25-80%, and 5.0 wt% or less of volatile components.
