[Problem] To provide: a catalyst which is capable of inhibiting the formation of a coke-like substance and improving long-term reaction stability in a reaction which produces, by way of catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation, a conjugated diolefin from a mixed gas including molecular oxygen and a monoolefin having four or more carbon atoms; and a production method for said catalyst. [Solution] A composite metal oxide catalyst, which is for producing, by way of a gas-phase catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation reaction, a conjugated diolefin from a mixed gas including molecular oxygen and a monoolefin having four or more carbon atoms, has a solid acid content of 35-172 µmol/g, and includes molybdenum (Mo), bismuth (Bi), and an alkali metal (AM). The molar ratio Bi/AM of the alkali metal to bismuth is at least 3.4, but not more than 11.0. |
