The invention relates to a radial tyre, in particular for a private passenger vehicle or van, having a lightweight belt structure (10) comprising a multilayer composite laminate (10a, 10b, 10c) of specific construction, including: a first layer (10a) of rubber (C1) reinforced with heat-shrinking circumferential textile reinforcements (110) in the form of monofilaments or monofilament assemblies, e.g. of nylon or polyester, said first layer being mounted radially (in direction Z) on a second layer (10b) of rubber (C2) reinforced with steel cables (120) formed by 2 to 5 monofilaments, the diameter of said cables (D2) being between 0.20 mm and 0.70 mm, and said second layer, in turn, being mounted radially (in direction Z) on a third layer (10c) of rubber (C3) reinforced with individual monofilaments (120) having a diameter or thickness (D3) within the range from 0.15 to 0.50 mm. |
